Nintendo delivers yet another great Zelda game that is sure to be as memorable as ever. Do not be daunted by having to use the stylus as the main form of control as there is almost no learning curve; indeed, I soon applauded the developers for their decision as it created such innovative and fun possibilities. As to be expected, the good old Zelda formula of dungeon questing, treasure hunting, and puzzle solving is present, providing hours of fun gameplay. Although I have to say the game is a bit easy, I have still poured many many hours into the game doing all the various fun side quests and collecting treasures. And as a completely new Zelda addition, there is a pretty fun multiplayer game that can be played globally over Nintendo's WiFi!

Bottom line: Even if you never played a Zelda game before (shame on you!), if you own a DS, there is really no reason you shouldn't get this game.

You can't pass up a Zelda GAME!

Strengths: Really nice integration of all the different aspects of the DS, especially how you move, fight, and do everything with the stylus and rarely use the regular controls...

Weakness: Aimed more at kids so it seems more playful... however even I got stumped on some of the simplest things... Hint to blow out the candles, you blow on the DS mic :-P Oh and rolling is near impossible.

I still can't believe I got stumped with things as simple as blowing out the candles by blowing into the mic! Have to give the development team major KUDOS on creating a solid and unique new game and Zelda Adventure. I wish it lasted longer, and I wish things were a bit easier to find but that is what gives it replay value!

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is the first Zelda game to hit the Nintendo DS system. The good news is that it was well worth the wait. Controlling Link is done by using the stylus. Solving each dungeon is a floor-by-floor affair, with puzzles rarely reaching past one level. Despite that, each dungeon is built wonderfully. Multiplayer adds some great casual fun to the game. Most dungeons in single-player are guarded by invincible "phantoms," clinking ghost-knights. Their only weakness is that they can't enter certain "safe zones" on the map, or see Link once he enters them. In multiplayer, one person takes the part of Link, attempting to grab tri-force pieces and throw them to his base area, while the other player takes on the role of a force of phantoms, tracing out their paths on an overhead-view map while looking out through one of their eyes on the top screen. There aren't many maps, and only the one game mode, but it's a fun mode and you can play it locally, wirelessly or even with one cartridge. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass a must-play for any DS owner.

Best game for the DS

Strengths: Zelda on the DS! Notepad function is actually very useful.

Weakness: Game could be longer

Even though it is hard to believe, your console really isn't a Nintendo console until you have a great Zelda game for it.

I think the best think about this game is the notepad function on the map. Great use of teh DS stylus.

Buy this game - its just like the SNES Zelda but better.

Phantom hourglass

Strengths: pefect

great game play and graphics for the ds. it appears some cant find out how to do a roll... i accidentally did one, its pretty easy. put the stylus at the edge of the screen wait until your at full speed and just scribble, it says tiny circles bu scribbling works best. if oyu dont have a ds get one and buy this game!
