Description:
Parappa the Rapper was a tremendous hit for the Playstation, thanks to its cartoony graphics, fun story and innovative gameplay. Players would listen to catchy rap songs and attempt to "rap" by pressing buttons to the beat. Parappa became a video game icon and has been an unofficial mascot of PlayStation ever since. Ten years later, Parappa the Rapper returns to win over another generation of fans with all new PSP system exclusive features! Players can once again join Parappa in his quest to win the heart of Sunny Funny and learn from their favorite Rap Masters like Chop Chop Master Onion, Instructor Mooselini, and Cheap Cheap The Cooking Chicken.

PaRappa The Rapper
Strengths: A Playstation 1 classic brought to the PSP
Weakness: Nothing more than that old, somewhat dated, PS1 game
PaRappa The Rapper was a somewhat innovative game when it first came out for the original Playstation nearly 10 years ago. However, music and rhythm games have come a long way since then and this may not hold up in comparison to them. What does hold up, though, is the unique art style and funny cut scenes that play out between stages. The main game consists of timed button presses to keep the rap...

PaRappa
Strengths: none
Weakness: short, minimal replayability
I think this title is showing it’s age. It’s a fairly straight forward game, similar in idea to Simon where you match the notes that the teacher spits out. The music is pretty good but the game is short and replayability is fairly limited. It seems to be just an extended one note minigame and I got tired of it after a few runthroughs to get a higher rating. I certainly enjoyed the style and...

Solid PSP Game
Strengths: Gameplay, graphics
Weakness: A little dated. Lack of new content.
Back when the original PaRappa came out, it was fun and innovated. Now, with popular rhythm games such as Guitar Hero and DDR, this game has lost its charm. Since you cannot play DDR or Guitar Hero on the PSP, this game may be fun if you like rhythm games. If not, then stay away.

PaRappa the Rapper: 10 years later. . .
Strengths: Great rhythm-based audio, endearing characters/story, solid graphics on PSP, new multiplayer mode
Weakness: Not optimized for widescreen, minimal updates/new content, short overall length, expensive for what you get
PaRappa the Rapper for PSP is pretty much a straight port of the ten-year-old PSone game. If you were hoping for a remake or a significant update/expansion to the rhythm game you loved as a child, you will be sorely disappointed here. Fortunately, PaRappa remains a decent game even by today's standards. The old PSone graphics look good when shrunk to the PSP screen, and the great audio and...

The Classic Returns! Ole Joy!
Strengths: Same music & Gameplay as original! Great value Priced Game.
Weakness: PSP stereo too weak! headphone yes-please.
Picked this game up on the bargain bin, remembering the days when this came out and the buzz sorrunding it, a little funky dog, dat raps w/ broken english, pressed w/ the right button on your controller.
Game is the same as played on your Playstation 1 system.
And who doesn't love the catchy funny music from it.
Nice buy! and a good game for those short gaming time.
