Run, do not walk off the plank and buy this game!
Strengths: Sid Meier game, Swashbuckling fun, awesome graphics
Weakness: No tutorial in the beginning
Sid Meier's PC game on the PSP is awesome! Pirates is more of a conquering, fighting and trading game. It is not like the Civ games. I was very impressed with the graphics and sounds on this game, load times were minimal also. You start off commanding your own ship and hire new crew when you visit different cities. Once on the seas you can battle other ships and take them over. Anyone who has any...

One of the best PSP strategy games out there. . .
Strengths: Quality port of PC game, fluid controls, lots of mini-games, minimal load times, inexpensive to buy
Weakness: Completely unrealistic portrayal of pirate lifestyle, minimal audio
Sid Meier's Pirates started life as a PC game in 1987, and its 2004 PC remake garnered some critical and consumer acclaim. Pirates for PSP comes across as a mostly faithful port of the 2004 PC game, and the results are mostly positive. Pirates subscribes to the sandbox style of game play, meaning you can go anywhere and do anything you want. You can seek vengeance against the Spaniards that...

Yargh! Open-ended Pirate Gameplay
Strengths: Sandbox feel with a variety of things to do and see.
Weakness: Can be overwhelming and the graphics are mixed bag.
This is such a terrific game on the PSP. You play the role of a pirate in the Caribbean who's family was kidnapped and put into slavery when you were a wee lad. And after you grow up and become a man you can do basically whatever the heck you want with your ship and your crew. Attack ships on the high seas and board them for one on one duels. Then take their loot, crew, and ship! Sneak around...

Arrr Matey! Avast ye be on the seas of the PSP.
Strengths: Great port of a great game. Looks good. Plays well.
Weakness: Some of the minigames are rough around the edges
Pirates is a port to the PSP of a great game to first appear on the PC and then xbox. In Pirates you start as a fresh faced captain and sek your fortune and fame on the high seas. Carouse in pirate bays, duel on the high seas, or impress a governors daughter (or two!) It's a great game with a lot of replayability and open endedness. Perfect for carying around on your PSP. Some of the mini games...

Sid Meier's Pirates! (PSP)
Strengths: This ported game from the PC is great. I played it on PC for a year and have been playing on the PSP for 2 weeks. I literally cannot tell the difference. The controls are very fluid and adjustable.
Weakness: None so far...I like the mini games!!
Great pirate game of all time. At least up till this time and date. If you ever wanted to be a pirate, this game can get you there as close as possible. Fun, adventure awaites on the high seas!!!
