HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE is a platformer game for the Xbox. It is based on the movie and follows its plot pretty closely. Like previous Potter games, u control Harry , Hermione, and Ron as they explore Hogwarts and the surrounding environments like Black Lake and the Forbidden Forest. There are some changes here though, in that the 3 characters no longer have unique abilities and spells. Also , u can no longer switch between characters during a level. U are able to play with 2 other players controlling the other 2 as u solve environmental puzzles with different spells. They are automatic, depending on the environment. For example, if there’s a boulder in ur way , then u will do a Levitation spell to remove it. The enemy monsters in the game are limited in variety, but they still do the job in terms of challenge. U attack them w/ different Jinx spells and collect Magic Beans that can be used to improve ur characters’ attack and defense abilities. There is pretty good variety in terms of the different levels; one minute ur flying on a broom running from a fiery dragon, the next u are underwater swimming in Black Lake. U have different magic cards that u can buy to gain new spells , so this also adds variety. Overall, it is a pretty fun game.

Collect-a-thon

Weakness: -the objective in most of the levels are to collect items which then unlock a level and other items. -repetitive and boring

I enjoyed the book and have seen the movie but I would advise anyone older than 10 years old to skip Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire game.

Most of the game has the player running around levels (which are pretty linear in nature) collecting tri-wizard shields and other useless items. Along the way there will be environmental obstacles i.e. boulders blocking your path, a fallen tree in which case you cast a spell to get it out of the way. There are monsters that show up but there's very little variety. The only exciting levels are the ones based on the Tri-Wizard tournament which has flying on a broom, etc.

But all that is somewhat expected - most movie licensed games just aren't very deep. What is surprising is the weak visuals and how the game doesn't borrow footage from the movie. Cutscenes which help progress the story are cheaply rendered in a cartoon/cheap 3d modeling and most of them consist of still pictures. The graphics for the characters are subpar and poorly animated.

I didn't expect much when I decided to buy this game but the Goblet of Fire game was a disappointment nonetheless. I planned to buy the other games if I found this game enjoyable but I will definitely stay away from the older games and from future titles in the series.

This game continues the franchise of Harry Potter games.
The target audience for this game is mainly for kids. Huge adult fans of the movie might enjoy it, but its primary focus is kids.
That being said, it is a little difficult. My son came to me a few times and asked me to get past a point in the game that was too hard for him.
It does follow the movie's storyline so the kids usually get into that and have a blast.
Graphics wise it is also pretty strong.

For kids, recommended. For adults, fans only.

Strengths: there is none

Weakness: its just terrible

The game is terrible, thats why there is no comments cause they suck, its just about a 4 eyed queer who thinks he is magic, how fun, ages 10 and below.
