Ridge Racer now with touch screen action!

Strengths: Multiplay with up to 6 DS systems

Weakness: AI is tough on the computer racers

Ridge Racer DS is basically the N64 version of Ridge Racer ported to the Nintendo DS with some of the systems features brought into the gameplay. The major thing for the control is that you can use the touch screen to steer your car or the D-pad. While the touch screen is somewhat of a learning curve it's pretty good once you get used to it, although an analog stick is better suited for racing...

This game is only good because of...

Strengths: It's for the Nintendo DS

Weakness: Gameplay

This game is only good because of the Nintendo DS system. It is a great system, and everyone I know likes it a lot. This game however isn't the best. The graphics are shaky, and the gameplay is just boring. I wouldn't recommend buying this one without knowing exactly what it was first. However the controls are fun because of the stylus.

I would suggest to get the PSP...

Strengths: Good Graphics

Weakness: Very limited on what you can do

I would suggest to get the PSP version of Ridge Racer instead of this. A good factor in this game is the graphics of it. It has amazing graphics, but it lacks the gameplay that it needs to replay the game over and over. The way the sylus works is unique, but I wouldn't recommend this game to people who are looking for a very good arcade racer. But all in all, this is the best racing game on the...

After purchasing Ridge Racer for...

Strengths: Good graphics, arcade racing fun

After purchasing Ridge Racer for $9.99 at the Circuit City Sale, my brother and I took it home for some multiplayer DS action. Right out of the box, Ridge Racer impresses with its ability for 6 player wireless multiplayer with only one game cartridge. This was a deciding factor in purchasing Ridge Racer as opposed to another racing game such as Need For Speed, as my brother and I both own DSs and...

Don't be fooled by Ridge Racer DS,...

Strengths: A DS racing game. Good graphics for the DS. Fast paced.

Weakness: Port of an N64 game. Somehow looks WORSE than the N64 original. Touch screen steering is awful.

Don't be fooled by Ridge Racer DS, it's really a port of the competent but underwhelming Ridge Racer 64. Sporting sharp graphics, a bunch of cars and tracks, and single cart Wi-Fi, it has decent longetivity. However, the touch screen controls are useless, and the dpad controls are iffy. Stick to Need for Speed Underground
